Saturday Is...

Waking up to the sound of rain on the roof.

Snuggling under the covers to watch the rain drops fall.

DSC00116

Belgian waffles with strawberries and cream on top.

A Waffle Kinda Morning

Wearing pajamas well into the afternoon.

A little mama/boy jam session.

Mama's Learning Too

Jam Session

A little observational drawing.

Drawing Brother's Guitar

Seeds sprouting in the windowsill, lifting their little heads to look out and survey the patch of earth that will soon be their home.

Such Promising Young Things

His favorite story read three times in a row (such a patient Daddy!).

His Favorite Story

Our latest favorite song played again and again, cuz it fits today just right.

"We have all we need, and all we need is enough."

Yep, just right.

banana pancakes--that's a total favorite around here, too (the song).
can i come over and bring my guitar, and my fork for some waffles, and my seed packets, and my drawing pencil, and a little girl who's about to lose her front tooth, too?

looks like a perfect saturday. xo.

Sounds and looks wonderful.... well worth waiting all week for.

Gotta love Jack - although my daughter does not. I could listen to him all day, but I used to listen to him all day a few years back, apparently around the time Avery had the stomach flu, and she can't here his songs (or anything that sounds like his songs, hence ruling out many singer-songwriters I love) without feeling queasy. Looks like the perfect way to start a long weekend.

Hi. i've been lurking for the last week and love your posts and pics. I just had to comment because I even clicked on the link, I just knew it was gonna be Jack Johnson. My kids and I have been infatuated with him for years. Your next favorite songs are oldies by him .... Mud Football and Bubble Toes. If you haven't heard them yet, check them out. xoxox Nice to meet you.

i meant to say "before I even clicked on the link". Does that make a little more sense now :) Nice to see a fellow geeter picker too... I'm glad I added you to my google reader.

Love the way your son plays his guitar. That's just adorable with his feet on the bed like that!

Sounds like it was a perfect day! I'm sure there weren't any cross words or whining like there was at our house today! Some days are definitely better than others!!

Perfect day! It all looks wonderful. We love Harold and the Purple Crayon - that one never gets old.

What are the seeds?

Definitely love a bit of Jack in our house too!

Oh what a lovely day, hurray for rainy Saturdays!

Sigh. I go from blue poppy (who is touting seven and a half feet of snow) to blue yonder (who has plants sprouting up).

Hmm. Me, I would say I'm a little in between, but I'm leaning toward snow and snow and more snow, just not enough for a snow day.

I can't wait to start planting some seeds!! What are you growing this year? :)

Sounds like a delicous day. I just love the picture of the boy and his guitar.

We did the PJs thing on Saturday, too. Frankly, though, I'd trade PJs for some of those waffles, please.

Wonderful post and photos. We had a very similar Saturday indeed!

Sounds like a lovely day...and I see that Spring is there; I am jealous.
